Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday, also called Passion Sunday, in the Christian tradition, the first day of Holy Week and the Sunday before Easter, commemorating Jesus Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

The modern palm crosses, made from using palm buds are a variation of the Roman Catholic tradition of handing out palm fronds to parishioners on Palm Sunday. Most of the churches use Emerald palm stems that are then blessed and are often taken home by parishioners and symbolize warding off evil.
